Do we as apostolics ascribe to our own version of once saved, always saved?

I perceive that its quite the opposite. I think many apostolics leave in fear that they can't stay saved. They have put such a burden upon themselves to "stay saved" that they have missed the liberation that Gods Spirit brings. This leads to legalism and rigged practices that suck the joy out of people.

I see that point, but what about that person that obeys the Acts 2:38 message and is following the standards--and they stop there. This would be a person who measures salvation by externals and feels that as long as they follow the letter of the law, dress right and have uncut hair (women) or short hair (men) they are saved no matter what else. Does this make sense?

They are so very wrong if this is the only measurement of their salvation. Honestly, in my opinion, I would say this should be the least of the measurements. Accomplish having all of the fruits of the Spirit working in ones life first. If we as Christians can do that then "standards" and knowing if we are "saved" will not even be a thought. One will know!
If we are running on a "checklist" mentality then we will lose our sincerity. NOTHING CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT A SINCERE HEART! If we sincerely love God and the things that concern Him then He will bring us to revelation.
A rules and regulation mindset cannot be our salvation plan. This was the problem with the Pharisees and Scribes. They compassed to world to make one like them and that person ended up being twice the child of hell.
Mat_23:15 (Jesus) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
I would suggest that one who judges their salvation by legal means are of little to no use for the advancement to the Kingdom of God.

I think in theory we all agree that we cannot have a "rules and regulation" mindset but it's so much easier to follow a "checklist" and I have seen this frequently. It's like following a Christian recipe "do this, don't do that, wear this, don't wear that, say this, don't say that..." The shorter the "recipe" the easier to "remain saved" and checklists that are outwardly measurable, become their "salvation insurance" so to speak. I think it makes folks uncomfortable to have expectations put on their character. So let's just "ignore that" and go with external measures, and call it good.
